Although so much in technology today includes the word "wireless," a well designed and installed low-voltage wiring system is a must in a new home construction or a major renovation. We often use the term structured wiring to describe such a system, so we thought it might be useful to explain what exactly it means and how we do it at simpleHome.

Structured wiring can be defined as integrating all the communications wiring in your home and treating it as one wiring system. It includes wiring for music, video, telephone, intercoms, security, surveillance, home networking, or anything else you might want to add in. The wires are run in bundles containing all types of wires and are all pulled back to a central location to a well ventilated equipment rack.
Advantages:
Access of Music & Video Throughout the Home - With all the cabling coming back to a centralized location, the music & video equipment can be accessed throughout the home. No need to have a cable box for every TV.
Troubleshooting - Each cable is clearly labeled and can be isolated and tested if an issue arises.
Flexibility & Future-proofing - You can easily change how the cables are connected and what they are used for. |
