Man Cave Becomes Teen Cave

You are probably familiar with the term "man cave" and what it is. There is even a TV show called "Man Cave," where in each episode they design and construct the perfect man cave for a cave dweller. Oops, I mean man. The man cave is meant to be a refuge in a guy's home where he can escape from the trials and tribulations of daily life, kick back and do the things he enjoys in surroundings that make him feel happy and comfortable.

At simpleHome, we consider ourselves man cave experts. This is because of something we do really well - creating totally awesome music and video systems that are easy to use and look great. We've created many such spaces and never tire of the big smiles and thank yous we receive from happy clients.
But this isn't just a story of another man cave. It's the story of how one man cave transformed into something even better: an teen cave. I know about this transformation because the people involved are in my own family. You see, my son took over my husband's man cave when he was about 15 years old. I'm sure my husband missed his old stomping ground at times, but as parents of an American teenage male, it was comforting knowing that our house was the place to "hang out." It was also nice to be able to occasionally pop downstairs to check on the gang. The teen cave provided a safe place where the kids could hang out together and watch sports and movies, play video games, play ping pong, foosball, nerf basketball and even an old fashioned game of Pac-man.
In September, my son left for college and it's been much quieter around here. But in a few days he'll be back for Thanksgiving break and I have little doubt that the teen cave will be back to the dull roar I so miss.... Just as my hubby was getting used to having his cave back.
