Seemless Blending of Old & New

simpleHome worked with this homeowner, who also happens to be a carpentry craftsman and antiques collector, as he led a major renovation. His mission was to create an environment that meets the technology and entertainment needs of his young family, while preserving the aesthetic of an elegant, tasteful, country home. The warmth and charm of this home is centered around the wonderful collection of antiques that were collected over the years. However, there is no lack of modern conveniences - even if you don't see them all.

In the kitchen, for example, simpleHome installed invisible speakers in the ceiling. The unique design of these speakers actually make them part of the ceiling surface. They are completely concealed behind a thin layer of plaster, while delivering remarkable sound.

The audio and video equipment is all housed in a well-ventilated equipment rack located in the basement. By engineering the system with a centralized, distributed audio and video system, simpleHome eliminated the electronic clutter of cable boxes, receivers and other equipment throughout the house.

simpleHome integrated the security system into the control system, as well as driveway sensors and the doorbell. Whenever a vehicle enters the driveway, a chime is heard throughout the home, briefly interrupting the music to alert the homeowner of a visitor.  Unique door bell chimes are used to indicate whether the visitor is at the front or side entry doors.

When the family wants to just relax and hang out together, they really love to spend time in their dedicated home theater with surround sound and gaming.
